I wanted to share with you my current fav green smoothie! It's been my go to breakfast smoothie these past few weeks and I find it totally filling and satisfying and it's so so easy. I'm all about the easy meal making haha.
Smoothies are super hard for me because I'm allergic to two main ingredients that make your smoothie thick and creamy, banana and avocado (solo tear) - oh and almond milk makes my skin break out in huge welts..sooo there's that too haha. Picture me ordering a smoothie at any and every smoothie location - there are about 30 glorious and delicious sounding options and I can typically order maybe 3 without having to modify the ingredient list *sigh*. So when I find a smoothie combo I love, it's a HUGE win.
Here's what I'm currently mixing together for my Green Power Smoothie:
- Frozen Pineapple
- Frozen Mango
- Frozen Kale
- Frozen Caluiflower
- Vanilla protein powder
- Collagen powder
- Unsweetened Cashew Milk
Now here's the easy part. You ready?!
I go to my local grocery store and pick up each of the above frozen items and when I get home, I layer them together (pineapple, mango, kale, cauli and repeat) in a big freezer bag so that the smoothie is already pre-mixed. Helloooo easy morning blending! That is what I am talking about!
I don't measure a whole lot but I would say about 1/4 Cup or so of liquid (cashew milk for me), a 1/4-1/2 Cup of your pre-mixed frozen goods, 1 Tbl Collagen, and 1/2 scoop of protein powder should do the job just fine!
If you're feeling extra fancy, you can top your smoothie with just a bit of my homemade granola (recipe is in our Sweet Treats e-cookbook *wink wink*) and it'll give it that extra bit of crunch! Pair the Green Power Smoothie with some fresh grapefruit and you've got yourself a beautiful looking breakie!
